Rule of Life
-
The most widely known Rule of Life was developed by Saint Benedict in the sixth century and is still followed today by Benedictine priest and nuns. Their Rule revolves around five practices: Prayer, Work, Study, Hospitality and Renewal.
My own Rule of Life is summarized in one sentence: I long to live a just, faithful, generous, simple life in community.

A Rule of Life provides guardrails to keep us traveling along the Way and also serves as a trellis, so that we grow in the direction and way that we long to. A Rule allows us to intentionally create practices that help us become who we long to be.
